Kentucky Derby Party 2015

I was asked to be in charge of a Kentucky Derby party for my church and it was a blast.

I knew right away I wanted to make paper flowers. So I went and got some paper flowers from Little B LLC. They are easy to put together and look fantastic!

Since it was a family event we decided to do a few activities so all the kids and adults were entertained.

We had lemonade (non alcoholic mint julep) and cupcakes for snacks.

We set up the following activities: Pin the bow on the tail, Coloring station, Make your own Hat or Bowtie, Corn Hole (safer than horse shoes), and we ran the track all night.

We started off the night with a bugling and welcomed everyone.

Running the track was my favorite part. We held different races for different ages, and then did mother son races, daddy daughter races, and ended the night with an oaks race (women over 18) and a derby (men over 18).

We had prizes for the best hat, best bowtie and answering the fact sheet right.

We wanted to have something for everyone to do, so we made a fact sheet about the Kentucky Derby for those people who didn't want to run around or do kid activities. The fact sheet can be down loaded at the bottom of the page.

The photo booth was blast and the large rose flowers from Little B LLC made a nice statement.

Enjoy the photos and downloadable!
